Getting started

We have been looking for the perfect house for over a year from now. We have finally picked a lot and a house plan. We started working with a well-known building company. Wow, this is difficult. The building company wants the buyers to sign a contract with the base price and then they will talk upgrades and extras. We don't work like that. I want to know the end price before I sign a document. We want a 3rd car garage, big deck, walkout basement....these are big ticket items. So far this experience has sucked and we haven't even signed the contract. Wish us luck.
